Xprodox-100 Dry Syrup contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil 100mg, a broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used primarily in pediatric patients. It is effective in treating a variety of bacterial infections by preventing the bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which ultimately leads to their death. This medicine is prescribed for infections of the lungs (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), ears (otitis media), throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. Xprodox-100 is specially formulated as a dry syrup to make administration easier for children. It starts working quickly to relieve symptoms like fever, pain, and inflammation, and most children begin to feel better within a few days of starting treatment. However, it is important to continue the full course of the antibiotic even if symptoms improve early. Stopping the medication prematurely may allow the infection to return or lead to antibiotic resistance.
