Xpdonm-AV is a topical combination formulation that contains Metronidazole, Povidone Iodine, and Aloe Vera, designed for the treatment and prevention of skin infections, especially those involving mixed bacterial, protozoal, or fungal organisms along with inflammation or minor wounds. Metronidazole is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent that works by disrupting the DNA of infectious microorganisms, effectively killing bacteria and certain parasites responsible for skin infections. Povidone Iodine is a well-known antiseptic with strong antimicrobial action against a wide range of pathogens including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It helps clean wounds and prevent secondary infections. Aloe Vera, a natural plant extract, soothes and hydrates the skin. It forms a gentle, protective layer that aids healing by keeping the skin moisturized and reducing irritation or dryness. Together, these three components work synergistically—Metronidazole and Povidone Iodine eliminate infectious agents, while Aloe Vera calms and restores the skin barrier. Xpdonm-AV is ideal for minor cuts, infected wounds, ulcers, bedsores, or other skin lesions prone to infection. It should be applied as a thin layer over the affected area after cleaning and drying, typically two to three times daily, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Prolonged use should be avoided unless advised, and care must be taken to avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
