Vasizole-200 contains Voriconazole 200 mg, an antifungal medication used to treat serious fungal infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of fungi and yeast by interfering with the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the cell membrane becomes weak and the fungi die. Vasizole-200 is commonly prescribed to treat infections such as invasive aspergillosis, candidemia (fungal infection in the blood), and certain emerging fungal infections that are resistant to other treatments. It is especially effective in patients with weakened immune systems, such as those undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplants, or living with HIV/AIDS. Patients typically begin to feel better soon after starting the medication, but it is crucial to continue taking the full course as prescribed—even if symptoms improve—to ensure complete eradication of the infection and to prevent resistance. Dosage and duration depend on the severity of the infection, the patient’s health status, and response to treatment.
