TWIbacto
Description_Effects
TWIbacto contains Mupirocin, a topical antibiotic used to treat various skin infections caused by bacteria, such as impetigo, folliculitis, and infected wounds. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which is essential for the bacteria’s growth and survival. By blocking this process, Mupirocin effectively kills the bacteria and prevents the infection from spreading or worsening. TWIbacto is typically applied directly to the affected skin area, usually two to three times daily, as prescribed by a healthcare provider. It is important to clean and dry the infected area before application and to use the medication for the full duration prescribed, even if symptoms begin to improve earlier. Stopping treatment too soon may allow the infection to return or lead to bacterial resistance. The ointment is well-tolerated in most cases, but mild side effects such as burning, stinging, or itching at the application site may occur. If severe irritation or an allergic reaction develops, use should be discontinued, and medical advice should be sought. TWIbacto should not be used on large open wounds, deep puncture injuries, or burns unless directed by a doctor. It is for external use only and should not be applied in or near the eyes, nose, or mouth unless specifically instructed.
