TOCOtek-Pluse is a medicated antifungal shampoo that contains Ketoconazole 2%, a broad-spectrum azole antifungal agent. It is commonly used to treat fungal infections of the scalp and skin, particularly conditions like dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor). Ketoconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the cell membrane becomes weakened, resulting in the death of the fungus and the resolution of infection. One of the key benefits of TOCOtek-Pluse is its effectiveness in controlling fungal overgrowth on the scalp, which helps reduce symptoms such as itching, flaking, redness, and irritation associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
