TENCTIN-DM
Description_Effects
TENCTIN-DM is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Dapagliflozin (10 mg), Teneligliptin (20 mg), and Metformin (500 mg SR). It is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled with diet, exercise, and single or dual therapy. This triple-action formulation helps improve glycemic control through different mechanisms. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that works by eliminating excess glucose from the body through urine. It also helps in reducing body weight and lowering blood pressure. Teneligliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases the release of insulin and reduces the production of sugar by the liver in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin, a widely used biguanide, reduces sugar production in the liver and enhances insulin sensitivity, thus improving glucose uptake by the body. The sustained-release (SR) formulation of Metformin ensures gradual release of the medicine, improving tolerance and reducing gastrointestinal side effects. TENCTIN-DM, when taken regularly along with proper diet and physical activity, helps in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels and reducing the risk of long-term complications such as heart disease, nerve damage, kidney failure, and vision problems. It should be taken as prescribed to ensure optimal control of diabetes.
