Starnor-CR-10 contains Norethisterone 10 mg in controlled release form, a synthetic progestin that mimics the action of the natural female hormone progesterone. It is commonly used to manage various gynecological conditions caused by hormonal imbalance, such as painful or heavy periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and endometriosis. In PMS, Starnor-CR-10 helps balance hormonal fluctuations that lead to mood swings, breast tenderness, bloating, headaches, and irritability. In dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), the medication counters the effects of estrogen on the uterine lining, which helps reduce uterine contractions and associated cramps.
