Satixime-200
Description_Effects
Satixime-200 contains Cefixime 200mg in a dispersible tablet (DT) form, which is an effective oral antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Belonging to the third-generation cephalosporin class, Cefixime works by preventing bacteria from forming a protective cell wall, thereby killing them and stopping the infection from spreading. Satixime-200 is commonly prescribed for infections such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, ear infections, and urinary tract infections (UTIs). It may also be used in the treatment of typhoid fever and certain sexually transmitted infections, based on the doctor’s discretion. The dispersible form makes it easier to administer, especially for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets — it can be dissolved in a small amount of water before consumption. Most patients start to feel better within a few days of starting the medication. However, it is crucial to complete the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early. Stopping the treatment midway can lead to a relapse and make the infection harder to treat.
