It contains two active ingredients: Ebastine, a long-acting non-sedating antihistamine, and Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Ebastine blocks the action of histamine, a natural substance in the body that causes allergy symptoms. It helps relieve sneezing, itching, and a runny nose without causing significant drowsiness. Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes—chemicals that cause inflammation, swelling, and mucus production in the airways. This helps reduce nasal congestion and improves breathing. Together, these two ingredients provide comprehensive relief from both upper and lower respiratory allergic symptoms. Sagatine-M is especially effective for people suffering from seasonal allergies or hay fever, and may also help in mild asthma symptoms triggered by allergens. It is usually taken once daily, preferably in the evening. The medication is well-tolerated, with occasional side effects such as headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, or stomach discomfort.
