Sagatine-10 contains Ebastine 10 mg, a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine used for the treatment of various allergic conditions. It is commonly prescribed to manage symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, skin rashes, and hives associated with allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and other skin or respiratory allergies. Ebastine works by selectively blocking H1 histamine receptors, preventing histamine—a chemical released during allergic reactions—from exerting its effects on the body. This action helps reduce inflammation, itching, and other allergy symptoms without causing significant drowsiness, which is a common side effect of older antihistamines. Sagatine-10 is typically taken once daily, with or without food, and provides long-lasting relief for up to 24 hours. It starts working within 1 to 3 hours of ingestion. Because of its non-sedating nature, it is suitable for daytime use and does not usually interfere with alertness or daily activities. Most people tolerate it well, but some may experience mild side effects such as headache, dry mouth, or drowsiness. It should be used with caution in patients with liver problems or those taking other medications that affect liver enzymes.
