SILLUcef-50 is a dry syrup formulation containing Cefixime 50 mg along with Lactic Acid Bacillus, designed primarily for pediatric use. This combination is effective in treating a broad range of bacterial infections while helping to maintain healthy gut flora during antibiotic treatment. Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of the bacteria. It is effective against infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ear, throat, and gastrointestinal tract. The inclusion of Lactic Acid Bacillus (a probiotic) helps restore the natural balance of bacteria in the intestine, which can be disrupted during antibiotic therapy. This reduces the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and supports better digestive health. SILLUcef-50 is generally prescribed in children to treat conditions such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis media, and UTIs.
