SELLUxy-CV
Description_Effects
SELLUxy-CV is a combination medication that contains Amoxycillin 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 28.5 mg per 5 ml. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic suspension, commonly prescribed for children to treat various bacterial infections such as those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ear, nose, throat, skin, and soft tissues. Amoxycillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, which are essential for the survival of the bacteria. However, some bacteria develop resistance by producing enzymes called beta-lactamases that can break down Amoxycillin. This is where Clavulanic Acid plays a crucial role. It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxycillin from being destroyed, thereby enhancing its effectiveness against resistant bacterial strains. SELLUxy-CV is especially effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is usually well-tolerated in children when taken as directed by a pediatrician. The suspension should be shaken well before use, and doses should be administered using a proper measuring device to ensure accuracy. Common side effects may include diarrhea, mild abdominal discomfort, or skin rash. To reduce stomach upset, it is best taken with food. As with all antibiotics, it's important to complete the full course, even if symptoms improve early, to prevent recurrence or resistance.
