SAN-OD-M is a combination medication that contains Desloratadine and Montelukast, designed to effectively manage symptoms related to allergic rhinitis and other seasonal or perennial allergies. This combination provides dual-action relief from symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy or watery eyes, and general nasal discomfort caused by allergens such as dust, pollen, or pet dander. Desloratadine is a long-acting antihistamine that works by blocking histamine, a chemical in the body responsible for allergy symptoms. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals the body releases after exposure to an allergen. By blocking these, Montelukast reduces inflammation, nasal swelling, and mucus secretion, improving breathing and overall allergy control.
