SAIUmet-1000 contains Metformin 1000 mg (Sustained Release), an oral antidiabetic medication used to help control high blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin belongs to a class of drugs known as biguanides and works primarily by reducing glucose production in the liver, decreasing the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. By effectively lowering blood glucose levels, SAIUmet-1000 helps in preventing long-term complications of diabetes such as kidney damage (nephropathy), eye issues (retinopathy), nerve damage (neuropathy), and cardiovascular diseases.
