PEPnil-ITO is a combination medication containing Pantoprazole and Itopride, used primarily for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders such as acid reflux, indigestion, heartburn, gastritis, and functional dyspepsia. This combination works synergistically to not only reduce the production of stomach acid but also improve the movement of the digestive tract, offering comprehensive relief from both acid-related symptoms and motility issues. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that effectively suppresses the secretion of gastric acid by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining. This helps relieve symptoms like heartburn, sour stomach, bloating, and acid reflux, and promotes healing of ulcers and erosions in the esophagus and stomach lining. Itopride is a prokinetic agent that enhances gastrointestinal motility. It works on dopamine receptors in the brain to prevent nausea and vomiting and stimulates the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines to improve the passage of food. This makes it especially helpful in conditions where delayed gastric emptying or sluggish digestion is involved. PEPnil-ITO is generally taken before meals as prescribed by the physician.
