PENITAlin-D-50/20 is a combination medication that contains Pregabalin and Duloxetine, used primarily for the treatment of neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and certain anxiety and depressive disorders. Pregabalin is an antiepileptic and anxiolytic agent that works by calming overactive nerves in the brain, thus reducing pain signals and nerve-related discomfort. It is commonly used to treat nerve pain caused by conditions such as diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), shingles (postherpetic neuralgia), or spinal cord injury. It also helps relieve symptoms of anxiety and improves sleep in patients suffering from chronic pain. Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine, natural substances in the brain that help maintain mental balance and stop the movement of pain signals in the nervous system. Duloxetine is effective in treating depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and various types of chronic pain including musculoskeletal pain and fibromyalgia.
