Oftarx-CL
Description_Effects
Oftarx-CL is a combination ear drop medication used for the treatment of mixed bacterial and fungal infections of the ear. It contains Gentamicin (0.3%), a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria; Clotrimazole (1%), an antifungal agent effective against yeast and other fungal infections; Beclomethasone (0.025%), a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling; and Lignocaine Hydrochloride (2%), a local anesthetic that provides fast and effective pain relief. Together, these components work synergistically to relieve symptoms such as earache, discharge, itching, and swelling commonly associated with otitis externa and other ear infections. This ear drop is generally prescribed for external ear infections caused by bacteria and fungi, and also helps relieve discomfort through its anti-inflammatory and numbing properties. It should be used exactly as directed by a physician, usually by instilling the required number of drops into the affected ear while lying on one side. Patients are advised to keep the ear upright for several minutes to allow the medicine to penetrate effectively. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as slight stinging or irritation. However, if symptoms worsen or allergic reactions occur, medical advice should be sought immediately. Avoid using it without medical supervision.
