OSANtan-Trio is a combination medicine that contains Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg, Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, and Amlodipine 5 mg, primarily used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). This triple-drug formula works synergistically to provide better control of blood pressure when dual therapy is not sufficient. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps relax and widen blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels. This allows blood to flow more easily, lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill) that helps the body eliminate excess salt and water, which also helps reduce blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the blood vessels and improves blood flow by preventing calcium from entering the cells of the heart and arteries. Together, these three components provide a comprehensive mechanism to manage hypertension and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage. OSANtan-Trio is generally taken once a day, with or without food, and should be taken at the same time each day for maximum effectiveness. Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, swelling in the legs, and increased urination. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is recommended during treatment.
