LIzithro-100XL Suspension contains Azithromycin 100 mg/5 ml, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children. It is effective against infections of the respiratory tract (such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis), skin and soft tissues, ears (otitis media), throat (tonsillitis and pharyngitis), and gastrointestinal tract. It is also used in certain sexually transmitted infections and bacterial infections of the urinary tract. Azithromycin works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria by interfering with their protein synthesis, ultimately killing them and stopping the spread of the infection. It does not work against viral infections such as the common cold or flu. LIzithro-100XL Suspension is specially formulated for children, making it easier to administer. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the child’s age, weight, and the type of infection being treated. It is crucial to complete the full course of the antibiotic even if the child starts to feel better, as stopping it too early may allow the infection to return or cause resistance.
