KIVOlax-Plus Suspension is a triple-action laxative used for the effective short-term relief of constipation. Each 5 ml contains Milk of Magnesia (3.75 ml), Liquid Paraffin (1.25 ml), and Sodium Picosulfate (3.33 mg). These ingredients work together through complementary mechanisms to soften stool, promote bowel movement, and ease its passage. Milk of Magnesia acts as an osmotic laxative, drawing water into the intestines to make stools softer and easier to pass. Liquid Paraffin works as a lubricant, coating the stool and intestinal walls to reduce friction and make bowel movements smoother. Sodium Picosulfate is a stimulant laxative that increases intestinal movements by stimulating the nerves in the colon. KIVOlax-Plus is especially helpful in cases of chronic constipation, postoperative recovery, pre-surgical bowel preparation, or for patients who should avoid straining, such as the elderly or those recovering from surgery. It is generally well tolerated, but some people may experience abdominal cramps, bloating, or diarrhea. It should be used only for short-term relief unless prescribed otherwise by a doctor, as overuse may lead to dependence or electrolyte imbalance.
