JEPrifa-M Tablet is an oral medication used to treat infectious diarrhoea, a condition caused by harmful bacteria or parasites affecting the intestines. Infectious diarrhoea is commonly characterized by frequent loose stools, abdominal cramps, bloating, nausea, and sometimes fever. It often results from consuming contaminated food or water, especially in areas with poor hygiene and sanitation. JEPrifa-M typically contains a combination of Rifaximin and Metronidazole, two well-known antimicrobial agents. Rifaximin is a gut-specific antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria in the intestines, while Metronidazole targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa that can also cause intestinal infections. Together, they provide broad-spectrum coverage to eliminate the root cause of diarrhoea. This combination therapy not only helps in reducing stool frequency and abdominal discomfort but also speeds up recovery by directly targeting the infection. JEPrifa-M is particularly useful in treating mixed infections where both bacteria and protozoa may be responsible for the symptoms. The tablet should be taken as prescribed by a doctor, and the full course must be completed even if symptoms improve early. Adequate fluid intake and dietary care are also important during treatment to prevent dehydration and promote faster recovery.
