Description_Effects
JEPrifa-400 contains Rifaximin 400 mg, a non-systemic, broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat traveler’s diarrhea caused by the bacterium Escherichia coli (E. coli). This condition commonly occurs in individuals traveling to areas with lower standards of hygiene and is typically characterized by frequent loose stools, abdominal cramps, bloating, and urgency. Rifaximin works by blocking bacterial RNA synthesis, effectively inhibiting the growth and survival of E. coli in the intestines. Since it is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream, its action remains localized in the gut, which not only increases its effectiveness in gastrointestinal infections but also reduces the risk of systemic side effects. JEPrifa-400 is especially useful in treating non-invasive traveler’s diarrhea, meaning cases without fever or blood in the stool. It offers rapid symptom relief and helps restore normal bowel function. Most patients begin to feel better within 24 to 48 hours of starting the treatment. A typical course lasts 3 days, but it should be taken exactly as prescribed to ensure full recovery and prevent antibiotic resistance. This medication may also be used under medical guidance for conditions like hepatic encephalopathy or irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). JEPrifa-400 is well-tolerated, but should always be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
