FYTOclind‑AP is a topical medication that combines two active ingredients: Clindamycin Phosphate 1% w/w and Adapalene 0.1% w/w. It is primarily used to treat acne vulgaris, especially when both inflammatory lesions (like pimples) and comedonal lesions (blackheads and whiteheads) are present. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, specifically targeting Cutibacterium acnes, the bacteria that contribute to acne. It also helps reduce inflammation and redness associated with active acne lesions. Adapalene, on the other hand, is a third-generation topical retinoid. It helps to normalize the growth and shedding of skin cells in hair follicles, preventing clogging of pores and the formation of new acne lesions.
