DILEVOrex-ER
Description_Effects
DILEVOrex-ER contains Divalproex Sodium (Extended Release), an antiepileptic and mood-stabilizing medication used in the management of several neurological and psychiatric conditions. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of various forms of epilepsy, including complex partial seizures and absence seizures. By increasing the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a calming neurotransmitter in the brain, it helps suppress the abnormal electrical activity that leads to seizures. In addition to seizure control, DILEVOrex-ER is effective in managing the manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder, a condition characterized by extreme mood swings, ranging from mania to depression. It helps stabilize mood, reduce irritability, and prevent the recurrence of extreme emotional highs. Divalproex sodium is also approved for the prevention of migraine headaches, especially in patients who experience them frequently and severely. Although it does not treat an ongoing migraine attack, regular use can significantly reduce the number and intensity of episodes. This extended-release formulation is designed for once-daily dosing, providing stable blood levels and improved patient compliance. However, it should only be used under medical supervision. Common side effects may include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, or weight changes. Liver function, blood counts, and drug levels may need to be monitored regularly. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor.
