DENPOZIN-S
Description_Effects
DENPOZIN-S is a prescription medication used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, a chronic metabolic disorder where the body becomes resistant to insulin or fails to produce enough insulin, resulting in elevated blood glucose levels. This condition can lead to serious long-term health complications, including heart disease, kidney failure, nerve damage, and vision problems, if not properly managed. DENPOZIN-S combines Sitagliptin and Metformin, two antidiabetic agents that work synergistically to control blood sugar levels more effectively than either medicine alone. Metformin works primarily by decreasing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and by increasing the sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin, thereby helping the body utilize glucose more efficiently. It also reduces the absorption of glucose from the gastrointestinal tract. Sitagliptin belongs to a class of drugs known as DPP-4 inhibitors. It increases the levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate the pancreas to release insulin in response to meals and decrease the liver's production of glucose when it is not needed. DENPOZIN-S is typically taken along with meals to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort. When used alongside a balanced diet and regular exercise, it helps achieve better glycemic control and reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications.
