AFYmox-500 is a broad-spectrum antibiotic containing Amoxicillin, a penicillin-class drug used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, making it suitable for treating infections in various parts of the body. This medicine is commonly prescribed for ear infections (otitis media), respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), sinusitis, tonsillitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections (UTIs). It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, ultimately leading to the death of the bacteria. AFYmox-500 is typically taken orally 2–3 times daily, as directed by a physician. It starts working quickly to reduce symptoms such as fever, pain, and inflammation. For maximum effectiveness, it is important to complete the full course of the antibiotic even if symptoms improve early, to prevent bacterial resistance or recurrence. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, rash, or mild stomach upset. Serious allergic reactions are rare but possible, particularly in patients with a history of penicillin allergy. AFYmox-500 should be used only under medical supervision and is not effective against viral infections like the flu or common cold.
