PEPnil-DSR
Description_Effects
PEPnil-DSR is a combination medication containing Pantoprazole (Delayed Release) and Domperidone (Sustained Release), commonly used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, and other conditions related to excessive stomach acid and delayed gastric emptying. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This helps in relieving symptoms like heartburn, acid reflux, and ulcers. Domperidone is a prokinetic agent that increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to pass more easily through the digestive tract and preventing nausea and vomiting. PEPnil-DSR is particularly effective in patients with chronic acidity, indigestion, bloating, and regurgitation. It is usually taken before meals to maximize its effectiveness. Patients are advised to follow their doctor’s instructions carefully and not to discontinue the medication without medical consultation, even if they feel better. Like all medications, PEPnil-DSR may cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, diarrhea, or dry mouth in some individuals. Long-term use should be monitored by a healthcare provider to avoid nutritional deficiencies or other complications. This medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
